Solid Waste Worker

Work under close supervision, preforms basic labor tasks in the collecting and transferring of solid waste; operates equipment and tools in compliance with all safety regulations and standard procedures.


Position Details:
  • Job Type: Full Time.
  • Min Education: H.S.Diploma/Equivalent.
  • Salary: $13.00 an hour - starting.
License and Requirements:

Valid Texas Driver’s License and pass background check. A Texas State Class B CDL is required or the ability to obtain within 12 months of employment. Successful candidate that possess a Class B CDL will receive an extra $100.00 a month. 


Successful candidate will receive paid sick leave, vacation, city holidays, and paid insurance for employee.

Physical demands and working environment:

Work is performed indoors, outdoors, and at City facilities; requires constant physical efforts, and the ability to bend, reach, stoop, and lift objects; may be exposed to safety hazards and dangerous equipment; safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment. City will provide all uniforms and shoe wear.

Skills in:

Safe and efficient operation and maintenance of tools and equipment, learning and following standard operating and safety procedures, closely following verbal and written instructions and procedures, along with establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
