Garbage Collection & Solid Waste
Terrell Hills has it's own solid waste department, and provides residential garbage collection.

Residents have been supportive of recycling efforts, which has reduced the volume of garbage going to the dump. Please remember there is no recycling in weeks containing a City Holiday.

In weeks containing a City Holilday please refer to the Holiday garbage schedule located on the last page of the Newsletter.

Guidelines
Think about safety when putting garbage out for pickup.

Some things that we find are helpful.

Heavy
If it's heavier than expected, put a note on the outside that says 'Heavy' in big letters.

Sharp
If it's got something sharp inside, wrap it or box it so it won't cut or stab. If it's still risky, put 'Sharp' on a note in big letters.

Long
Some things probably need to be cut in order to fit properly.

Dogs
Our City loves dogs, but when they spread your garbage around, it's a mess. Using a trash can with a lid goes a long way to keeping Fido out of the trash, and healthier too.

Chemicals & Paint & Poisons
These things belong in special landfills, not the regular dump.
