The Terrell Hills Police Department currently has one officer assigned to Bike Patrol. The Bike Patrol Officer provides extra security and is able to gain access to most places a marked patrol unit is not able to gain access to. The Bike patrol is a great asset for areas too large for a foot patrol.

The Terrell Hills Police Department has a Field Training Program (FTO) that shows new officers the ways the department functions. The FTO program gives the new officer a way to learn hands-on with another officer who is trained to help new officers become accustomed to the work required.
